The Schoodic International Sculpture Symposium has completed work to produce the Maine Sculpture Trail, a 34 piece outdoor exhibit spanning over 200 miles along the coastal region of Downeast Maine.  To view an interactive map of each sculpture location and for more information about the artists, select each sculpture image below.


Addison

Title: Spirit of the Marsh
Follow Route 1 to Four Corners in Columbia Falls. Turn left onto Abittoir Road which turns into Water Street. Continue into Addison. Water street curves around to the left towards the Town Office, which is near the sculpture. 44°37’05.7″N 67°44’37.8″W

Bar Harbor

Bucksport

Title: Before the Wind
Follow Rte. 1 to Main St. in Bucksport. The sculpture is located at Flag Point Park on the waterfront, near the junction of Rte. 1 and Rte. 15, on Main St, within view of the Verona Bridge. 44°34’17.1″N 68°47’41.7″W


Blue Hill

Title: Window of the Sea Wind
Take Route 172 from Ellsworth toward the town of Blue Hill. Continue downtown, turning onto Water Street. Sculpture located at Emerson Park at the town landing. 44°24’45.4″N 68°35’11.1″W


Calais

Title: Nexus
Take Rte. 1 to Calais to the downtown waterfront area. The sculpture is located in front of the Calais Free Library, at the corner of Main and North streets. 45°11’21.0″N 67°16’36.7″W


Castine

Title: Home and Away
Enter Castine on Rte. 166. At Main St., turn left and go down hill, make a right onto Perkins St. Follow Perkins St. to the Wilson Museum. Sculpture is on the grounds of the Museum. 44°23’01.9″N 68°48’22.8″W


Deer Isle

Title: Deer Isle Project
Located at Scott’s Landing on the hill to your left just after the causeway from Little Deer Isle to Deer Isle. From Blue Hill take Route 15 to Deer Isle. 44°16’39.8″N 68°40’35.2″W


Eastport

Title: Nature’s Grace
Follow Route 1 south to Route 190, turn left towards Eastport. Continue 190 into town. Make a left onto Washington Street which will take you down to the waterfront. Turn right onto Water street. Sculpture is on the left at Overlook Park. 44°54’19.3″N 66°59’04.5″W


Ellsworth

Title: I Want to Ride a Cloud

Franklin

Title: Recurrent Journey

Hancock

Take Route 1 to Hancock. Turn onto Hancock Point Road. The sculpture is located next to the town office.
